There are two traps we can fall into when we evangelize.

Caring Must Include Sharing

The first trap is to care generally for the other person, but then, when he or she is ready to hear the Good News, not telling the person about Jesus' life, death and resurrection. This may be valuable caring ministry, but  it's not evangelism. Telling about Jesus is an integral part of Christian evangelism,  If we don't tell the the Good News of sins forgiven for Christ's sake at the right time, our evangelism is incomplete.

Sharing Must Include Caring

The second trap we can fall into with evangelism is the trap of speaking but not acting.  It can be easy to think that if we've only said the right words about God, our evangelism is complete and we can stop right there. But a words-only witness is incomplete. A complete witness involves caring actions, as well as words.
